Ronaldo injured in warm-up

The 29-year-old could now be a doubt for the Champions League final after being forced from the field prior to kick-off

Cristiano Ronaldo will play no part in Real Madrid's final La Liga game of the season against Espanyol after pulling up injured in the warm-up.

The 29-year-old suffered a hamstring problem in the 1-1 draw with Real Valladolid on May 7 but was passed fit to take his place in the side this afternoon.

However, Ronaldo left the field shaking his head in disappointment after feeling discomfort during his pre-match preparations and has been replaced by Isco in the starting line-up.

His participation in the Champions League final against Atletico Madrid has now been thrown into doubt with the two sides set to go head-to-head in just seven days time.

The Portugal captain will also be hopeful the problem is not serious enough to endanger his chances of playing in the World Cup this summer.

A goal on Saturday would have taken Ronaldo on to 31 strikes for the season and seen him scoop the Golden Shoe ahead of Luis Suarez, but the pair will now share the prize.

Seven from FC Barcelona in provisional Spain squad

FC Barcelona is the most represented club in Del Bosque's list of 30 players

Gerard Piqué, Jordi Alba, Xavi Hernández, Andrés Iniesta, Sergio Busquets, Cesc Fàbregas and Pedro Rodríguez have all been named in the 30-strong provisional list of players in the Spanish squad for the 2014 World Cup. On May 25, manager Vicente del Bosque will need to cut that number down to 23 as he bids to make Spain only the third team ever to retain the title.
Barça, with seven players, is the most represented club in the list (the two Madrid clubs have four each). Of the seven, only Jordi Alba has no previous experience of the World Cup Finals, although he was in the winning squad at Euro 2012. The complete list of 30 is as follows

FC Barcelona v Atlético Madrid: The last 5 meetings

The stats from the five games played already this season show how well-matched these two teams are, although there are also some striking differences

Barça and Atlético Madrid are about to meet for the fifth time this season. They’ve all been incredibly tight affairs, with four games ending in draws and Atlético getting one win in the Champions League quarter finals. There have been two Barça goals compared to three for Atlético. But although there’s not much to choose between the teams in terms of most stats, there are also notable differences in some categories.

Barça are the clear leaders when it comes to crosses into the area, passing, possession and dribbling. Simeone prefers a more direct approach, and his side gets caught offside much more and gives away more finals, which reflects their more physical game. Here’s a summary of what happened in the five games these sides have already played in various competitions in the 2013/14 season:
